Digital Photography and ImagingWeek 4 (Lectures, Tutorial, Practical)
Lecture
In the fourth week, we learned about adjustment layer and filters in Adobe Photoshop.
1. Brightness & Contrast
- Brightness slider: adjusting highlights
- Contrast slider: adjusting shadows
- Adjusting levels of shadows, mid-tones and highlights
- Adjust the entire tonal range of an image
- Adjust exposure levels with 3 sliders: Exposure, Offset, Gamma
- Selectively modifies the amount of a primary color without modifying the other primary colors
In practical class, we are required to choose the best composition in our last task, digital collage and use it to practice what we learned today, which is adjustment layer and filters. We discussed with Mr Fauzi to choose the best composition out of the 3 compositions we did.
DESCRIPTION:
I put the goldfish in the middle as the visual center, highlighting the beauty of the goldfish. The background used stripes, flowing like the sky, like a river, with tall buildings below.
DESCRIPTION:
I darkened the whole picture a bit, learned color scale, brightness (contrast), curved color balance, photo filter, and tone separation.
