Week 7 / Case Study of 360 Proposal Design
PROJECT 3
For this project, we will learn to create a proposal for 360 video. Mr Martin shows us a short firm that is made from the seniors and we need to use it as our inspiration to create our own ideas to film in 360 video and write the proposal. Below is the short firm:
After watching the short film named ' Nightmare', I begin discussing the idea with my group mate, Elysa. The short film is about a girl's nightmare. She dreamed a guy was trying to kill her and the next day when she woke up, the same incidient happen which same as what she has dreamed. We need to think in how can we shoot this into 360 video to convey the idea of ' Nightmare'. As Mr Martin said, shooting the dream was not working in 360 video because the viewers would not know they were in a dream scene in a 360 video. Therefore, we should think of another story that can capture the same experience which is fear. Through our discussion, we found that the story of a girl who lives alone and something bad happens to her would work in 360 video.
Below is the proposal:
Later, the teacher showed us some things about refugees, and we had to shoot a 360-degree video based on that. We were divided into two groups. Finally, during the field investigation, we found that we were a group of four. We combined the suggestions of our two groups and finally completed the plan. And filmed it.
REFLECTION
Throughout the module, I had a hard time understanding the concept of 360° videos. Throughout the module, I had a hard time understanding the concept of 360° videos. It was really challenging to conceptualize and adapt a short film idea into a 360° video, allowing the audience to immerse and participate in each scene. They ultimately become the storyteller. Overall, this module was absolutely enjoyable and taught me the importance of planning and creativity when making 360° videos, as well as timing.
