Week 6 (Lectures, Tutorial, Practical)

As week 5 is a public holiday, we conducted week 6 class based on the materials of week 5 class. Mr Fauzi explained that we will picked up the class slowly on next week. So, next week, we will be conducting our class based on the class materials of week 6 and 7.

Lecture

In this lecture, we learned about digital photography.

  • Exposure setting: the amount of light which reaches your camera sensor or film
    1. Iris/Aperture:  control the flow of light entering the lens
measure by f-stop, indicated by sequence of f-number
The lower the f-number, the larger the lens opening.
          2. Shutter Speed: *allow light onto the film or prevent light from reaching the film

          3. ISO: *the sensitivity—the signal gain—of the camera's sensor
The lower the number of ISO the less sensitive your camera is to light and the finer the grain.
  • Lens Perspective: wide angle lens, standard lens and tele lens
    1. Focal Length: The shorter the focal length, the wider the angle of view and vice-versa

    2. Depth of Field: The smaller the aperture you use, the greater the depth of field
