      IDEAS PROPOSAL

We held a group meeting to discuss potential ideas for project proposals. We finally decided to take Chinese culture consisting of paper-cut culture, Yun Jin Han fu, and Buddhist culture Thangka as our research theme. The reason why we chose Chinese culture is because we are international students from China. We have a deeper and more familiar understanding of Chinese culture. We have been in contact with them since childhood, and at the same time, we can promote and study some famous Chinese culture through this project, showcasing China's traditional cultural aesthetics to everyone. Chinese culture is vast and profound, making it easy to find topics that are interesting and suitable for us

Then we were divided into 3 groups, with 2 people in each group, and we divided the work to search for the topics we proposed.
Among them, the theme I am responsible for is the sketch design and content introduction of Yunjin Hanfu.

Regarding paper-cut culture, we drew design drafts for masks, greeting cards, etc.

Regarding Han fu culture, we drew a design draft focusing on Yun Jin Han fu.

Regarding traditional Chinese Buddhist culture, we drew portraits of Buddhist gods.

Final Report:

After the final report, the instructor chose Yun Jin Han Fu as the theme for our group and asked us to submit data collection on Yun Jin Han Fu before the next week.

DATA COLLECTION

1. Internet research

I have thought and written down what I thought that  data collection and introduction should include

Figure 1.7. key point

After assigning tasks, We searched the Internet for the historical background and traditional styles of Yun Jin Han Fu.Through an Internet search, we learned about the origin and origin of Yun Jin Han Fu as a traditional Chinese costume. It is recognized as a world intangible cultural heritage and its historical significance is ancient.
The most important discovery we made was the style and background of the Yun brocade, which helped validate our research.

I am responsible for the historical background, styles, fabrics, and the parts cited by Yunjin in cultural and creative products,
I search for information on Google, Wikipedia, Bilibili, Baidu, and Taobao

2.Physical Research

We studied some actual Han fu, including typical Han fu, chest-length shirts and skirts, and horse-faced groups. We can truly feel the materials and texture of Han fu so that we can better understand the structure of Han fu.

3. Interview

We interviewed Mr. Chen, an inheritor of intangible cultural heritage from Jiangsu, China. He has loved Yun Jin brocade culture since childhood, so he began learning Yun Jin brocade handcrafting early. He now inherits Nanjing Yun Jin, a world-intangible cultural heritage.

Fig2.5 Profile
Through interviews, we learned that their works aim to inherit Yun Jin's intangible cultural heritage culture, pursue spiritual and meaningful works, and create the emanation of the Yun Jin soul that will never break. Let more people know about her and then understand this intangible cultural heritage projectYunjin is a carrier and symbol of traditional Chinese culture, Inheriting and protecting traditional culture is the mission of every Chinese person

Use inherited technology to reproduce modern tastes and boldly innovate in a modern environment. Show the beauty of creation.

Final Outcome

FINAL PROJECT: VISUAL DESIGN OUTCOME

After group discussion, we decided the final output would be a bookmark designed with Yun Jin elements. So, we found a Chinese-style bookmark design reference and showed it to the instructor, who then approved our idea.

We submitted two sketches to Miss. Maria, and received feedback that we should choose the second sketch and that we need to carry out packaging design.
So, the design sketch of my gorgeous packaging box, combined with the patterns of bookmarks, also uses representative patterns from Yunjin: auspicious clouds, flowers, and butterflies, which can echo the theme

Digitalized version:

After getting feedback, we used AI to create a digital version. This is the front and back of the bookmark, both using elements of Yun Jin Han Fu.

Bookmark size: 15*5cm, CMYK format, coated paper/pearl paper printing, color printing. This way we can print out our designs smoothly and easily,

FEEDBACK

Week 4:
After submitting the ideas proposal, the final feedback I received was to use proposal 2, Yun Jin Han Fu.

Week 5:
Miss. Maria told us that our data collection needs to focus more on Yun Jin, rather than all Han fu. Moreover, a detailed interview process is not required, but the personal information of the interviewee and a summary of the interview are required.

Week 6:
This is the last week, miss. Maria has taken one of our bookmark Sketches and given feedback that we need a packaging design for the bookmark.

REFLECTION

Experience:

At the beginning, each member of our group had a different understanding of the needs of the project and somehow we were unclear about what the project was going to do. With the instructor's guidance and several discussions, we got on track and successfully completed the proposal and data collection portions.
Intercultural design team collaboration is full of both challenges and opportunities. Through understanding, communication, and cooperation among team members, they can fully leverage their strengths and jointly create influential and innovative design works.

Observation:
In collaboration, our main focus is on efficiency and discussion of viewpoints. The team needs effective leadership and management to ensure the achievement of team goals and collaboration among team members. Decision-making and disagreement: Team members from different perspectives may have different opinions and opinions on design direction, creativity, etc., leading to decision-making difficulties. This collaboration has taught me better how to communicate with others and make informed decisions

Findings:
I have experienced cultural sensitivity, effective communication skills, collaboration and teamwork, the value of diversity, adaptability, and flexibility, which can allow us to gain a deeper understanding of the culture of research and learn from multiple perspectives.
