360/VR

VR, Virtual Reality, a digital stimulated 3D immersive environment.360 video is live action video, reality environment shot by 360 video camera.

360° Video: Passive viewing experience, good for storytelling where the viewer can look around but not interact.

VR: Fully immersive and interactive, providing a more dynamic experience where users can engage with the environment.

Project 1

After the lecture, our task was to create a 360-degree video experiment, but according to the teacher’s explanation, our focus should be on the theme and story or technical experiments, and write down your own ideas.
Idea:
Malaysia's Petaling Street has a variety of artistic and cultural styles, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the rich streets and feel the passion of Petaling Street. The magnetic field also includes the Central Art Gallery and Kwai Tsai Lane. The 360-degree perspective can bring a new visual experience to the audience. By adding some shooting reversal technology and integrating audio experience to enhance the audience's experience。

Since this is our first time shooting, we decided to focus on the school as the main shooting scene. So I will change my location to the school. I will shoot some street shopping streets to show Taylor's environment and learning atmosphere, which can also help others understand the environment more clearly.

After we finish shooting with 360, we need to use pr to adjust it and add subtitles and transitions.

Overall feedback:

Don’t make each scene in your 360 video too short as it doesn’t give the viewer time to immerse/feel immersed in the environment.
The picture is messy

REFLECTION

This is my first time to use 360-degree video. I feel very novel about this project. We have to complete a project to shoot videos in 360 degrees. Mr. Martin said that we can shoot what we know because this project is experimental. I watched many videos on the Internet and decided to make a promotional video. Although the first time I shot it was not very good because I didn’t know what immersion is. But this experience made me better understand how to use a 360-degree camera and how to better shoot 360-degree cameras to make the audience more immersed. I believe that I have learned a lot from this project and learned a lot. I believe that these will definitely be useful in the future.

Comments

  1. So many places. Are you sure you willing to travel to all these places to shoot?
