PROJECT 1

Story Exploration

In week 2, we should first think about the story ideas. I drafted out a few ideas initially.

Week 2 / The Art of Storytelling

Story Development

For this project, we will create a 2-minute short story that will eventually be animated. Start with an idea, then build characters, settings, plot arcs, and themes. After that, a production-ready script will be written.

Idea :
A cat waited for three years to stay with the little girl who rescued it, and finally the little girl came home. Unfortunately, the girl didn't recognize it at all, so the girl drove it away, but in the end they recognized each other and lived happily together.

Kitten: The kitten is a stray cat. It was rescued by a little girl when it was about to die. After that, it kept thinking about the little girl. In its world, it wanted to stay with the little girl to protect her. Later, it waited for the little girl for three years. But in her world, it had been waiting for more than 20 years. Finally, the little girl appeared in her world. She was very surprised and went to recognize him. But the little girl didn't remember her at all, and drove him away. The little girl already had her own kitten. It felt very sad. It thought that if it drove the little girl's kitten away, the little girl would be its own, but it was driven away and verbally warned by the little girl. He never dared to bully the little girl's kitten again, but often appeared in front of or followed the little girl. After he persisted in appearing in front of him, the little girl finally remembered and took him in.

Reflection

Through this project, I learned to create stories based on themes and develop storylines based on character development. Character creation and character development are important when creating stories because the character's traits, goals, needs, etc. are key to driving the story forward. Story structure is important in order for the story to make sense. It is important to be able to know when writing a story whether the story makes sense. This project was an enriching experience for me and emphasized the importance of each storytelling component. It takes a combination of creativity, organizational skills, and technical writing skills to write a compelling story.
