Project 3: Channel Identity

The knowledge gained in Tasks 1 and 2 will be applied in Task 3. We will continue to create a channel logo motion graphics video for this project using the channel selected in Task 2.

Storyboard

I created a storyboard to visually capture the essence of Luckin Coffee’s vibrant and innovative spirit. The storyboard outlined my ideas for motion graphics that highlighted Luckin Coffee’s unique flavor.

Water Drop

I made the water drop animation of Luckin Coffee process in Adobe After Effects (AE) based on the idea of water droplets. The first step is to create the water drop effect.

Cup + Track Mask

Import the Luckin Coffee cup image into AE, place it in the appropriate position for the composition, and add a track mask.

Afterimage

To enhance the dynamic effect of the water droplets, add the "Afterimage" effect in Adobe After Effects. Also apply a blur effect

Four color gradient

To make the lines less rigid, I added a four-color gradient.

REFLECTION

The motion graphics project allowed me to apply technical tools and animation techniques to convey information visually. This project further developed my After Effects skills, especially in keyframing complex movements, managing depth through multi-layered compositions, and using cameras and null objects to create smooth, dynamic animations with engaging visual flow. I also learned how to remove backgrounds and how to skillfully use layers of video and type in my compositions. Through this process, I not only improved my technical skills, but also learned how to balance detailed execution with engaging visual communication. I gained a deeper understanding of how motion graphics can effectively convey information and leave a lasting impression on the audience.
